Port wine can be broadly divided into four types: Rosé, White, Tawny, Ruby
Rosé
Easy and uncomplicated wines, perfect for drinking cold or in cocktails
White
Fruity and floral wines, with different levels of sweetness and acidity, excellent for pairing with salty or sour nibbles.
Tawny
Wines aged in wood, excellent pairing with desserts (especially the ones made with dried fruit, spice, egg, pastry or soft cheese).
Ruby
Wines aged in wood for a short time. Vintage Port is included in this category: it’s a wine produced from a single exceptional harvest, with great structure to age in bottle for many years. Excellent pairing with desserts (especially when made with red berries, chocolate or hard cheese).
