There is no “perfect moment”. Some Port wines are particularly good as aperitifs (some dry White ports, for instance). Others are perfect with desserts (more complex White ports, Tawny ports and Ruby ports). Some are excellent with a red meat main dish (LBV Port) while others are excellent as cocktails (Rosé ports, some dry or medium dry White ports). All can be drunk at any time, not specifically at one moment. The opening of a bottle of Port is – on its own – an occasion to enjoy.
